    Intuitive Operation

    A good autopilot system should release you from the constant battle against wind and tide, reducing fatigue on long journeys and leaving you free to stand a more attentive watch. To do that, your autopilot system needs to be easy to use – letting you set and adjust your course with the least effort and intervention possible. Simrad Continuum technology works with a wide variety of controllers from the latest touchscreen multifunction displays, to dedicated autopilot controllers, to wireless remotes you can carry and wear anywhere on board. Change course at a button-press, and take manual control in an instant; with Continuum you’re always the one in control and it’s easy to give the orders.

    Automated turn patterns

    Your Simrad autopilot can do much more than keep you on course. The Continuum algorithm offers a range of pre-set turn patterns designed to assist with fishing, diving, or just making a quick and efficient U-turn. Choose a turn, select port or starboard, and you’re away. For more control, customise your turn pattern to execute complex spirals, zigzags, and other useful manoeuvres.

    No Drift steering

    No Drift mode integrates GPS navigation with auto-steering, using your boat’s position to counteract the effects of wind and tide. This allows the Continuum algorithm maintain a straight track over ground on your current heading, without requiring you to manually set a waypoint or route.

    Depth contour tracking

    If you have a compatible echosounder on your boat’s NMEA 2000® network, the Simrad Continuum algorithm can auto-steer to maintain a constant depth of water beneath your boat – perfect for following depth contours while fishing or cruising, without having to define complex multi-waypoint routes.

    Easy setup with auto tuning

    The Simrad Continuum algorithm offers a simple commissioning process including dockside configuration and sea trial, combined with automatic tuning to ensure optimal auto-steering performance. Automatic compass calibration is available with the Simrad Precision-9 solid-state compass, further simplifying autopilot setup while ensuring the greatest possible heading accuracy.
