The Simrad GB40 Glassbridge combines 3D electronic charting, high definition radar and high performance fish finding into a sophisticated, yet easy to use navigation system.

The Simrad GB40 Glass Bridge comes preloaded with sophisticated Jeppesen - C-MAP MAX PRO-3D cartography, combining GPS, land elevation, satellite photos and bathymetric sea floor data to produce a stunningly beautiful virtual earth display that visually represents the environment around, above and below your vessel. This incredible functionality can be enhanced even further by adding one or more of the sophisticated upgrade modules available for the Simrad GB40 system

Simrad GB40 High Resoultion Monitors

Three high resolution monitors are available in sizes 10, 15 and 19 inches. Bonded screens enable use in bright daylight conditions and night palette dims the screen for safe night operation

Simrad GB40 High Performance Echosounder

Sportfishers are sure to enjoy the powerful GB40 Network Echosounder, which provides excellent fish and bottom detection thanks to its advanced signal processing and 200/50KHz frequency and 600/1KW transmit power. Ethernet connectivity ensures that the many fishfinder functions are available system wide.

Simrad GB40 HD Radar System

A full line of high performance DSP (Digital Signal Processing) Radomes and Open Array radars are available, with power levels from 2KW to 25KW and because they connect via ethernet, all radar functions are available systemwide.

AIS Automatic Identification System

Add the advanced Simrad AI50 AIS transponder and get the following information about nearby vessels

Shipsymbol with speed and heading vector presented on the GB40 chart display

Vessel name and MMSI number

Type of vessel, e.g. Tanker, Cargo, Pleasure, Sail, etc.

Closest point of approach

Time to closest point of approach

Course, Speed, Heading & Rate of Turn

Interface to Class A, Class B or receive only AIS via NMEA interface

Multimedia Entertainment System

The Simrad GB40 Glass Bridge can be turned in to a multimedia entertainment system by adding the DV40 CD/DVD player and connecting the audio to your boat's stereo system. Audio and Video files can also be loaded directly to the hard drive via the built in USB port. Video is shared systemwide so you will have acces to the multimedia player anywhere you have a GB40 Glassbridge screen and operation unit.

A high resolution, IR illuminated, waterproof color camera is available.

GS10 GPS Receiver

GB40 SimNet compatible WAAS /EGNOS GPS Receiver.

Ethernet Switch

The NE8 water proof Ethernet Switch allows multiple ethernet devices to be connected to GB40 simultaniously. As an example the NE8 is required when connecting dual GB40 NavComputers + Simrad ethernet radar on larger vessels.

USB HUB

The NU4 water proof USB-HUB allow multiple USB devices to be connected to GB40 simultaniously.

Note:A water-proof dashmounted USB plug is available as an option.

SimNet & NMEA2000® Networking

The GB40 Glass Bridge System is equipped withthe highly advanced SimNet plug & play network, which features “Smart Connection” to other SimNet compatible products and Slim Line connectors for easy cable routing. GB40 is pending NMEA2000® certification.

Note: SimNet to NMEA2000® male and female adapter cables are available to easily connect GB40 to a NMEA2000® backbone cable.
